- The site for the 2010 USA SAGE Tournament has been selected. It’s Buffalo/Niagara Falls on May 28-30, 2010
- We expect at least two more states to join the SAGE network in 2010: Minnesota and Illinois. We also hope to add New Mexico, Texas and Hawaii.
- The SAGE World Cup 2009 will be in Brazil on August 9-12, 2009.
- Join together and help send Chico State Sage Leaders to Brazil.

SAGE Mentor Visit Check List
- Google and print Directions to all destinations
- Arrive at school 15 minutes early
- Check in at main office proceed to classroom
- Conduct Presentation (contingent upon school’s progress)
1. Introduce yourselves (Full Name, age, year in school, major, hometown, etc)
2. Explain why you serving as a SAGE volunteer mentor/coach
3. Obtain information from class regarding knowledge of SAGE and details about their SAGE program/class OR about progress since your last visit
4. Go over the 10 judging criteria PPT with the students and the teacher (If necessary)
Pass out “SAGE High School Pamphlets” and “Sample Annual Reports”
5. Watch SAGE CA video (If necessary)
6. Explore which criteria the students are currently meeting with their programs/activities, and discuss ways to improve them
-Take detailed notes on “School Progress Report Form”
7. Brainstorm what new programs/activities they may want to start to address criteria that aren’t being met

8. Make yourself available via cell phone, text messaging and email during the academic year
9. Retrieve all participating students personal and parent contact information: “High School Participants Form” . Explain that a really nice letter will be sent to their parents.
10. Wrap up with teacher. “Intent to Compete Form” will secure future mentor visits and hotel rooms at the State Competition (May 14-16)
- Save receipts for food (up to $10 per person) and fill out a “Gas Expense Form”
- Send a follow up email to Teacher &/or Students Immediately
