Regional, National and Global Tournaments
High school SAGE teams travel to a state (or regional) competition sometime between February and July each year.
The state (or regional) competition is hosted by a university or SAGE Coordinator in your area. At the competition SAGE teams will be assigned to “leagues,” just like in athletic competitions. Each team presents the results of its activity to a panel of judges. The SAGE team that is rated the highest is known as the State SAGE Champion.
The winner of the state or regional competition advances to the National SAGE competition, which is usually held at the end of May or in June (for example, in the USA, the 2008 National SAGE competition was in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 22-25). In 2009, the SAGE USA event takes place in San Mateo, CA at the Airport Marriott.
The SAGE World Cup usually takes place during July or August each year. The Sixth Annual SAGE World Cup was in Abuja, Nigeria. The Seventh Annual SAGE World Cup will be August 9-13, 2009 in Brazil (city to be determined).
